Leslie is a wife, a mother of two, a registered dietitian, a jewelry lady with lia sophia, a middle school ministry leader and a woman’s ministry speaker. She has a lot of hats and tries to keep all those hats circling around Jesus Christ she said. She recognizes that He, the Holy Spirit, & God are to direct her path and steps and circling her roles around them keeps her on the right path. This is not always easy she stated “because the voices in this world often are yelling at you and Jesus’s voice is often a wisper.” A scripture to keep her anchored is Philipians 4:8 to focus on “ whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. “ When we do this the previous two verses are possible which is “to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving , let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philipians 4:6-7 These scriptures she said have kept her sane when life was falling apart around her and helps her keep her head above water when life just gets overwhelming.

Lonnie Pena

Lonnie Pena

Author / Contributor

Age: 46

Expertise: The beginner of all and the finisher of nothing.

Career Woman: Without a college degree.

Champion of miss-spelled words and bad grammar – even spell check cannot catch my mistakes; that’s how awesome I am! (That sounds better when it’s read, as if it were the words in a music video featuring Taylor Swift.)

Proudest moment of my entire life – the day I adopted my daughter – Alexis!

Hi, I am Lonnie and I am a typical Texan that loves the motto… “Go BIG or start another project”. I am a career mother of a wonderful, brilliant, beautiful and very independent daughter who has her own voice and opinions about life and how I should raise her. There are days that I am a consular, prayer therapist, St Theresa (which I still have not mastered), solitary confinement warden and part-time teacher to my DYSLEXIC daughter. I cannot forget to mention my wonderful partner Mark and my little Tip Tip the 4 lb fierce Chihuahua named, “Tippy”.

I will admit by any means that I am not an expert and do not declare to be an expert on any subject matter that I might blog about. All of my blogs will be my own experiences. I have never been published, I have never sold any of my craft project at Christie’s Auction House for thousands of dollar. All I can share is what’s in my heart and what I go thru trying to juggle cooking, raising a daughter, house cleaning (what little bit gets done), how I manage our lives, give everyone all the support and love that they need and how I try to find time for myself (which is nothing right now but I am working on that). All I can say is that there will be a lot to talk about.

I might make you cry, I might even make you laugh and I might even drive you crazy when I do not make any sense.

Now I’m gonna toot my own horn right now… cause that’s what they say you’re supposed to do when you write about yourself… I have a BIG heart with big dreams and I love my daughter more than life itself – I try my best at everything I do and all I want is the best for my family and friends.

I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts with my new virtual friends. I know there are individuals out there that are feeling just like I am – happy, sad, frustrated, FAT, appreciated or maybe even un-appreciated… etc, etc. I could go on but I’ll stop myself cause then we would spiral down the rabbit hole and find Debbie Downer and will want to stay for a tea party but we don’t want that – do we.

If you like what you just read then I invite you to join me for craft ideas, cooking on the go, raising a daughter and all the crafts that little girls like to do…yes there will be crafts for boys too. You might even see articles on how to renew your thoughts/spirit/body with some attitude adjustments thrown in. Just saying… we all have crappy days mixed in with hormones. You know what I am talking about.

Thank y’all for learning more about me.

Hi,

This is Rome and I will be sharing Alexis’ artwork on this website.

When my daughter adopted Alexis, my unspoken fear was that I would not be able to bond with this new little bundle. Wow, was I wrong! I’ll be sharing more about Alexis. She is bright, intelligent, beautiful and a free spirit. You will hear more stories about her and from her in the future.

She has been asking me to create a Facebook page for her for months. The title is her choosing. She loves to sing, paint and dance. No training, just a lot of energy.

To connect with Alexis you will have to connect with Lonnie.

Miriam Remmington

Author / Contributor

Miriam served alongside of her husband, Art, with the ministry of Promise Keepers as a National VSR Prayer Manager for many years. She also served as the National Prayer Director for Men At The Cross.

She has served in many areas of the church over the past 32 years, as a Women’s Ministry leader and speaker for various small women’s events across the country.

Miriam loves to inspire hope through sharing her story as a modern day “Ruth.” Miriam and her husband, Art have each experienced the premature home going of their previous spouses, as well as Miriam’s 11-year-old son, Micah. In the 33 years they’ve known each other and the 16 years they’ve been married, they have experienced more grief and challenges than many, but God is their “sure and firm anchor” in times of trouble. Hebrews 6:19 They have a wonderful story of God’s restoration when all seemed lost in the natural. They will be the first to testify they are “Blessed and Highly Favored of God.” No matter what you have gone through or are going through, you are too!

Miriam and Art are the Founders of United As One International. Miriam is currently serving as volunteer Staff with Life Awakening. She is also a Board Member of Lancaster Garden of Hope. (Please see the links for more details.)

Miriam resides with her husband among the beautiful rolling hills and farmlands in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania also known as Amish Country. She has three grandchildren safely deposited in Heaven. On March 1, 2014, a miracle grandson arrived who brings much delight to her soul. Along with her two remaining children, she has been blessed with a son – in – love and an amazing young lady who is engaged to her son. They will be married on February 29th, 2016. Mandy has a 6-year-old son who puts a smile not only “Mimi’s” face but on her heart as well!

Action Ministries Houston History

At 2:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning in December, 1990, Gordon and Pat Berg accepted a call from their Heavenly Father to follow Him. Thus, the birth of Action Ministries Houston. Gordon left his job as a chemical salesman and started collecting food; Pat continued working at her job and did her part in the evenings and on weekends. Now over 20 years later they have no regrets, just praise and thanksgiving to a Father who is all-sufficient. Action ministries has no paid staff members and is always grateful to their volunteers.

In March of 1998, both Gordon and Pat accepted the calling to become ordained ministers. What is next? “Whatever the Lord would have us to do. We are constantly amazed at his provision and leading.”
